Professor Dr. Gesine Reinert

Biography

Gesine Reinert is a professor in the Department of Statistics at the University of Oxford, where she has been affiliated since 2014. She has held various academic positions, including University Lecturer at the same department and fellow at Keble College, Oxford from 2000 to 2014. Her prior experience includes being a Senior Research Fellow at King's College, Cambridge between 1998 and 2000 and serving as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles from 1996 to 1998. She completed her Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of Zurich in 1994, focusing on weak law large numbers and Stein's method. Her research interests lie in applied probability, computational biology, and statistical inference, with a focus on networks, protein-protein interaction networks, and stochastic analysis. Gesine is recognized for her contributions to the fields of computational statistics and machine learning, demonstrating a commitment to advancing knowledge in these domains.
