Biography

Geske Dijkstra is a Professor of Governance and Global Development at Erasmus University Rotterdam. She has published extensively on topics including aid debt issues, gender equality measures, and economic policies in developing countries. During the 1980s, she lived and worked in Central America, which informed her research interests. Since 1990, she has been affiliated with Dutch academic institutions, where she has combined research and teaching with consultancy roles for organizations involved in development cooperation, including the World Bank and the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida). Dijkstra has (co-)authored and (co-)edited eight books and has published articles in international journals such as Development Change, Feminist Economics, World Development, and Development Policy Review. Currently, she is associated with the Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences.
