Biography

Ghida Kassir completed her medical training at the American University of Beirut (AUB) in 2018 and subsequently completed her residency in Psychiatry, where she served as Chief Resident. During her residency, she worked part-time as an adult psychiatrist for the EMBRACE initiative, a Lebanese NGO that collaborates with the Ministry of Public Health on mental health initiatives. Dr. Kassir joined the University of Toronto in August 2023 to pursue further specialization in psychiatry. She has completed fellowships at the Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, focusing on Adolescent Psychiatry, Eating Disorders, and Treatment-Resistant Psychiatric Disorders through Brain Stimulation Therapies. Dr. Kassir has a proven track record in academic research with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. She is passionate about mental health equity and committed to reducing disparities in mental illness and access to treatment through advocacy and research.
