Dr. Ghita Berrada

Biography

Ghita Berrada is an Assistant Professorial Lecturer at the Data Science Institute, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She completed her PhD in Computer Science at the University of Twente, Netherlands, focusing on designing a medical data sharing platform that utilizes electroencephalograms (EEGs) to maximize data and evidence while minimizing misdiagnosis risks. Prior to her position at LSE, she served as a Research Associate at the School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh, where she investigated categorical anomaly detection techniques aimed at identifying advanced persistent threats in operating system provenance graphs. Additionally, she worked as a Research Associate at the School of Life Course & Population Sciences, King’s College London, where her focus was on clinical decision support systems including cancer diagnosis and antibiotic prescriptions. Her research interests lie in decision support systems, particularly in healthcare and computer security, addressing challenges associated with highly unbalanced data, data uncertainty, and creating effective systems that enhance user decision-making through visualization and ethical considerations.
