Biography

Giancarlo Guizzardi is a Full Professor at the University of Twente specializing in the areas of Conceptual Cognitive Modelling and Formal Applied Ontology. He co-founded and co-directed the Ontology Conceptual Modelling Research Group (NEMO) in Brazil and leads the Conceptual Cognitive Modelling Research Group (CORE). Guizzardi has published around 400 papers and has held key roles in major conferences, including serving as Program Committee Chair and Keynote Speaker. He is an Associate Editor for journals such as Applied Ontology and Data & Knowledge Engineering and is a member of the Advisory Board of the International Association Ontologies Applications (IAOA). His current research interests include Value-Based Modelling and Ethical Requirements for Information Systems, with ongoing collaborations and projects in various sectors like Telecommunications and Digital Journalism.
