Biography

Gianmaria Colpani is an Assistant Professor in the Graduate Gender Programme (GGeP) at Utrecht University. He teaches courses on feminist, queer, and postcolonial theories at both Bachelor and Master's levels. He obtained his PhD in Gender Studies and Political Philosophy from the University of Verona and Utrecht University. His research interests include Queer Marxism, Queer Color Critique, Queer Archives, LGBTQ+ history, as well as Marxist and Post-Marxist theories of hegemony. Colpani's work critically engages with Postcolonial critique and intersectionality. He has published important works in English and Italian, contributing to discussions surrounding Stuart Hall, postcolonial and decolonial debates, postcolonial sexual politics in Europe, and the archives of the gay and lesbian left.
