Dr. Gideon Jonathan

Biography

Gideon Mekonnen Jonathan is an Associate Senior Lecturer at Stockholm University, in the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences. His research interests intersect digital transformation with the strategic deployment of emerging technologies, particularly in AI and blockchain. He has conducted significant research in areas such as digital sovereignty, organizational agility, information security management, and the socio-technical impacts of AI and blockchain on public sector innovation and governance. Gideon is an active member of the international information systems community and frequently participates in conferences organized by the Association for Information Systems and the Association for Computing Machinery, notably within the Special Interest Group on Management Information Systems. He has previously taught courses on Digital Transformation, Organizational Agility, and Information Security Management, guiding thesis supervisions at both MSc and BSc levels. Gideon is also an alumnus of the Swedish National Research School of Management and Information Technology, contributing to its bi-annual conferences and activities.
