Gilbert Moeckel graduated magna cum laude from Ludwig Maximilians University Munich, Germany, and trained in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ. Dr. Moeckel has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and has received both private industry and federal grants to support his research. His work continues to explore significant research projects, including the roles of DDT/MIF2 in acute tubular injury repair and the involvement of intrinsic progenitor cells in kidney injury repair.
