Biography

Giles Brereton is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Michigan State University. His research focuses on biofuels and their role in meeting the growing energy demands for secure and reliable energy-dense fuels for transportation and power generation. He investigates the potential of various biofuels as contributors to the future energy supply, including pure fuels and additives derived from sustainable sources. Dr. Brereton's expertise includes the injection and combustion processes of fuels in engine combustion chambers, aiming to optimize their performance under various temperature and pressure conditions. His educational background includes a Ph.D. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, as well as a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, University of London.
