Dr. Giles Edwards

Biography

Giles Edwards is a Research Associate within the Nuclear Physics Group at the University of Manchester. He holds expertise in various analytical techniques including Quadrupole Desorption Chemistry, Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS), Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography (UHPLC), Ultra High Vacuum (UHV), Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS), Laser Secondary Neutral Mass Spectrometry (L-SNMS), Mass Spectrometry Imaging (MSI), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Tandem Mass Spectrometry (MS-MS), and Resonant Ionization Mass Spectrometry (RIMS). Additionally, he is involved in capacity development and outreach within the research community. Edwards has held several key positions outside the university including Director of Artemis Analytical Ltd and Consultant at Anthias Consulting Ltd. His research is predominantly focused on advances in bioanalytical techniques, contributing to significant insights into mass spectrometry applications.
