Biography

Gilles Trudeau earned a Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.) in labor law from Harvard Law School in 1985 and has been a member of the Bar of Quebec since 1981. He was elected to the Royal Society of Canada in 2000. Over more than 20 years, he taught labor law and industrial relations at the Université de Montréal’s School of Industrial Relations and served as the director from 1995 to 1999. He was the Dean of the Faculty of Law from 2008 to 2012 and is a Full Professor and member of the Centre de recherche interuniversitaire sur la mondialisation et le travail (CRIMT). His research publications generally revolve around labor law in the context of globalization. Additionally, Trudeau has served as an arbitrator for grievances at both the Quebec and federal levels for over 20 years.
