Biography

Soh Gim Song is an Associate Professor at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) in the Engineering Product Development Pillar. He is a core founding member of the Robotics Innovation Laboratory and serves as the director of the Articulated Systems Biomechanics group. He obtained his MSc and PhD degrees from the University of California, Irvine, where he developed innovative computer-aided design software tools for articulated mechanical systems. His teaching includes courses on machine theory, computer-aided design, manufacturing, and engineering design processes. Soh has experience as a visiting scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and worked as an Associate Research Scientist at the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology. Currently, he is an associate editor for the ASME Journal of Mechanism Robotics and serves in various committees related to robotics and mechatronics. He has received several honors and awards for his work, including the 2019 IEEE MRS Outstanding Paper Award.
