Biography

Gini Fleming, MD, is a Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Chicago. She specializes in the treatment of advanced breast cancer and gynecologic malignancies, including ovarian, endometrial, and cervical cancers. As the lead of the Gynecologic Cancer Program at the University of Chicago, she is also responsible for the endometrial cancer program and co-leads developmental therapeutic programs. Her research focuses on the development of novel treatments through clinical trials. Dr. Fleming has been actively involved in validating the RSClin risk calculator in relation to the National Cancer Data Base and has contributed significantly to several studies involving cancer genetic testing. Her recent work includes randomized clinical trials and the examination of racial disparities in treatment responses among breast cancer patients. With a medical degree from the University of Illinois Chicago obtained in 1985 and a BA in Chemistry from Oberlin College in 1981, Dr. Fleming combines her educational background with extensive clinical experience in oncology.
