Dr. Ginny Sargent

Biography

Ginny Sargent is a leading Research Engagement Lead with extensive experience in population health research and evaluation of government programs and policy. She employs co-production and implementation science approaches in designing, implementing, and evaluating health promotion interventions aimed at preventing obesity, as well as disseminating research outcomes. Her expertise includes both qualitative and quantitative research methods, having developed and conducted large surveys, interviews with diverse stakeholders, and focus groups. Ginny's work focuses on improving the translation of evidence into policy and practice, addressing socio-cultural contexts of preventable chronic diseases, and using systems approaches to tackle social determinants of health to enhance population health. Her collaborative efforts involve engaging with a variety of stakeholders including community members, health service consumers, and government organizations. Her goal is to build organizational capacity through engaged research that leads to significant research impacts.
