Biography

Giorgio Paximadi is a full professor of Old Testament Exegesis at the Università della Svizzera italiana. He graduated in Classical Studies from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan with a thesis on general linguistics applied to classical languages. He later obtained a Theology License from the University of Fribourg (CH) with a thesis moderated by father J. D. Barthélemy O.P. He enrolled at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome, where he obtained a Sacred Scripture license under the supervision of father Luis Alonso Schökel S.J. and the Doctorate in Biblical Sciences, with a thesis titled "And I Will Dwell Among Them" focusing on the rhetorical structure of Exodus 25-31. His academic contributions include various publications on linguistic analysis and Old Testament studies, as well as articles featured in the Theological Review of Lugano. Paximadi is recognized for his expertise in biblical anthropology and interreligious dialogue concerning the Old Testament and the sacrificial themes within it.
