Biography

Giovana Anovazzi Medeiros received her D.D.S. degree from Sao Paulo State University in 2008 and later obtained a Certificate in Periodontics in 2011 and a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry in 2015 from the same institution. She continued her education with Master's, Ph.D., and Post-Doc degrees in 2012, 2016, and 2019, respectively. Dr. Anovazzi joined the University of Michigan's Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry Department in February 2020 as a Clinical Instructor and was promoted to Clinical Assistant Professor in June 2022. Her research focuses on genetic susceptibility and the biocompatibility of dental materials. Dr. Anovazzi also has significant experience in clinical and didactic instruction, working directly with pre-doctoral and graduate students at the School of Dentistry. Additionally, she has successfully mentored undergraduate and graduate dental students, helping them obtain funding for research that has resulted in publications in reputable international journals.
