Professor Dr. Giovani Caetano Da Silveira

Biography

Giovani da Silveira is a Professor at the Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary, specializing in Operations Supply Chain Management. He teaches courses on operations management, service operations, procurement, and theory building in Bachelor of Commerce, MBA, and PhD programs. His research interests encompass operations strategy, mass customization, servitization, and supply chain management, and he has published numerous articles in reputable journals including the International Journal of Production Economics and the Journal of Operations Management. He co-edited the book 'Mass Customization: Engineering and Managing Global Operations' published by Springer-Verlag. With over 6300 citations in Google Scholar, Dr. da Silveira has taken on various editorial roles, including Editor of the International Journal of Production Economics and Associate Editor for the Journal of Operations Management. He has served on the Adjudication Committee for the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) and has extensively reviewed graduate program proposals across various Canadian universities. Throughout his career, he has received multiple awards for his academic papers and contributions to the field.
