Biography

Professor Mann obtained his BSc in Zoology from George Washington University in 1973, an MSc in 1974, and a PhD in Physiology in 1978 from University College London. He has held a postdoctoral research fellowship and served in various academic roles at King’s College London, including Lectureship, Readership, and Professor of Vascular Physiology since 1997. He has served as President of the Society of Free Radical Research-International and held leadership positions in multiple scientific societies. Elected Fellow of the Physiological Society in 2018, he also acts as an associate editor for Physiological Reviews and has served on editorial boards of various journals. His research focuses on vascular biology, studying signaling mechanisms in endothelial and smooth muscle cells under conditions of oxidative stress. He has published over 180 research papers and coordinated more than 45 international conferences.
