Biography

Professor Giovanni Montana is a leading academic in the field of Data Science at the University of Warwick, holding a joint appointment in the Department of Statistics and the Warwick Manufacturing Group. With a PhD in Computational Statistics from Warwick, he has extensive experience in various research roles, including positions at the University of Chicago and as a data scientist at Bristol-Myers Squibb. His academic journey includes significant contributions as a Reader in Statistics at Imperial College London and as a Professor of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at King's College London. Montana's research focuses on machine learning and its applications in decision-making processes within uncertain environments, particularly in medical imaging and neuroimaging. He has garnered numerous accolades, including the UKRI Turing AI Acceleration Fellowship and various grants from EPSRC, MRC, CRUK, Wellcome, and Innovate UK.
