Biography

Giovanni Sileno is an assistant professor at the University of Amsterdam's Informatics Institute, where he is a member of the Socially Intelligent Artificial Systems (SIAS) research group. His research focuses on fields related to artificial intelligence and computer science, contributing to diverse tracks including computational legal theory, agent-based programming, cognitive modeling, information theory, and computational policy design. He also addresses the human and societal aspects of socio-technical systems. Sileno obtained his PhD in AI & Law from the University of Amsterdam and completed postdoctoral research at Télécom Paris and Paris Dauphine University, where he worked on cognitively-inspired computational methods. His previous experience includes a postdoc at UvA in the Complex Cyber Infrastructure group, focusing on the regulation of data-sharing infrastructures. His academic background includes graduating as an electronic engineer from Politecnico Torino/ENSIMAG. Besides his academic pursuits, Giovanni has worked as a business analyst at McKinsey & Co., as a freelance software developer, and he is also a musician.
