Biography

Girish Venkataraman is a Professor and the director of the Clinical Immunohistochemistry Laboratory at the University of Chicago Medicine and Biological Sciences. He earned his medical degree from Kilpauk Medical College in Chennai, India, and is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, as well as hematopathology, after completing a fellowship at the National Cancer Institute. Venkataraman is a diagnostic hematopathologist with over 50 publications focusing on hematopathology, particularly in relation to lymphomas, Hodgkin lymphomas, and leukemias. He has a notable interest in lymphoma diagnostics and education and has served as the Editor-in-Chief of the American Society of Hematology Image Bank. Additionally, he is an active member of the Chicago lymphoma rounds and the Lymphoma Research Foundation Steering Committee. Venkataraman has been recognized for his contributions to pathology, having been named the Pathology Teacher of the Year in 2013 by Loyola University Medical Center.
