Biography

Girish Venkataraman is a Professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of Chicago. He has earned his medical degree from Kilpauk Medical College in Chennai, India, and is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. Venkataraman completed his fellowship in clinical hematopathology at the National Cancer Institute. With over 50 publications, his research primarily focuses on hematopathology, particularly in the areas of Hodgkin's lymphoma, leukemias, and advanced diagnostic techniques in lymphoma. He has a special interest in lymphoma diagnostics and education and serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the American Society of Hematology Image Bank. Venkataraman was also a member of the Chicago lymphoma rounds Lymphoma Research Foundation Steering Committee and has served on the College of American Pathologists Quality Practices Committee. He currently directs the Clinical Immunohistochemistry Laboratory at the University of Chicago Medicine and Biological Sciences, where he is dedicated to improving diagnostic practices in hematopathology.
