Biography

Gita Ghiasi is an assistant professor at the School of Engineering Design and Teaching Innovation at the University of Ottawa. She is also an affiliate assistant professor at the Centre for Engineering Society at the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science, Concordia University. Her research interests include: R&D mapping, EDI research innovation, gender analysis, international development, and science technology policy. Specifically, Gita applies metadata analyses to publications, patents, and industries to address the societal implications of science and technology and explores innovative technological developments that include women, adhering to a gendered innovations approach, thus contributing to the success of the United Nations’ sustainable development goals. Her research has been highlighted in several media outlets, including Nature, Science, Wired, and Gadgette.
