Dr. Gitte Søgaard

Biography

Gitte Søgaard is an Associate Professor at Aalborg University, specializing in Danish and European corporate law and group law issues. She has worked extensively on the relationship between group interests and the individual company's interest within both Danish and European contexts. Her research covers a broad array of current topics within corporate law, including corporate governance, management structures, and management liability focused on both Danish and European frameworks. Additionally, she addresses various business law challenges significant to Danish companies, such as whistleblower regulations and foreign investment screening. Gitte has served as chairperson of PhD assessment committees and teaches corporate law courses at both basic and advanced levels. She is responsible for courses such as Corporate Law, Business Transfers, Advanced Corporate Law, and Masterclass in Legal Communication and Publishing. Gitte is a supervisor for bachelor and master's theses in business law and the auditing program. Her administrative roles include being a council member and chairperson in various academic committees, demonstrating her deep engagement in academic governance.
