Dr. Giuditta Cirnigliaro

Biography

Giuditta Cirnigliaro is an Assistant Professor at Università della Svizzera italiana, where she is also the Principal Investigator for the SNSF Starting Grant project titled 'Fable, Emblem, Poem, Performance: Renaissance Word Image Tales.' Her research primarily focuses on the investigation of word-image narratives within the context of Renaissance art and the creative processes of artists from that era. Additionally, she holds an adjunct professor position at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan and has collaborated with various academic institutions and museums to advance the field of Digital Public Humanities. Over her career, she has taught at esteemed universities such as Università degli Studi di Milano, Università Roma Tre, Rutgers University, and Université de Genève. Cirnigliaro has organized numerous events across Italy, Switzerland, Germany, England, and the United States. Her scholarly work includes editing the volume 'Italian Studies and Digital Interdisciplinarity' published by Taylor & Francis in 2022, and she has authored the monograph 'Leonardo's Fables: Sources, Iconography Science,' released by Brill in 2023. Cirnigliaro has also contributed articles exploring the interplay between literature, visual arts, and digital cultures, most notably in the journal Leonardo.
