Biography

Giulia Felappi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Southampton. She completed her PhD at King’s College London in 2015, during which she held the Analysis Trust Studentship. In 2016, she joined the philosophy department at Southampton. Giulia's research primarily explores the intersection of philosophy, language, and metaphysics, with a particular focus on the nature of contents, propositions, and facts. She is particularly interested in the history of Early Analytic Philosophy and the theories of notable figures such as Dorothy Wrinch and Susanne Langer. Giulia’s current research projects are supported by the Arts & Humanities Research Council, and she aims to understand the relationships between fundamental kinds of entities: the objects of the world, thoughts about those objects, and the language describing these thoughts. In addition to her research, Giulia teaches a variety of modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
