Dr. Giulia Guerra

Biography

Giulia Guerra is a PhD candidate and teaching assistant researcher at the Institute of Digital Technologies for Communication (ITDxC). She holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Politics International Organizations from the University of Trento, Italy, and a Master's degree in Public Corporate Communication from the University of Milan, Italy. Her professional experience includes roles as an editor, content creator, manager, and public relations professional in diverse settings such as publishing houses and online radio newsrooms. Giulia's research interests encompass visual political communication and qualitative research methodologies. Her doctoral project examines visual communication, focusing on the forms that political communication takes within the Swiss socio-political landscape. She is currently investigating short video platforms and how these highly visual, mobile-first environments transform the ways in which politicians construct their public images and engage with their intended audiences.
