Dr. Giulia Guidi

Biography

Giulia Guidi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Cornell University. She received her PhD in Computer Science from UC Berkeley and works in the field of high-performance computing (HPC) and large-scale computational sciences. Guidi leads the Cornell HPC group and is focused on developing algorithms and software infrastructures for parallel machines to enhance data processing speed without sacrificing programming productivity. Her research interests include sparse linear algebra, parallel computation, and the challenges of large-scale computational biology, with projects addressing real-world computational challenges leveraging emerging hardware technologies. Guidi is also an Affiliate Faculty member at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory's Division of Computational Sciences and has teaching engagements in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Department of Computational Biology at Cornell. She fosters a collaborative research environment and is actively involved in recruiting PhD students to join her group.
