Dr. Giulia Oskian

Biography

Giulia Oskian is an Assistant Professor of Political Science specializing in political theory. Her research interests include early modern and modern political thought, constitutionalism, democratic theory, ideologies, and political psychology. She has authored the book 'Tocqueville: The Legal Basis of Democracy,' which was published in Italian and translated into English. Currently, she is working on a new project that explores the role of emotions in political life, focusing on how emotions inform political judgment and can internally curb rationality. Giulia holds a Ph.D. from Scuola Normale Superiore and has been a postdoctoral fellow at Sciences Po Paris and Queen Mary University of London, as well as a Fulbright scholar at Columbia University.
