Biography

Giuliana joined Warwick Business School in September 2012 after serving as a research director at the University of Nottingham's Business School. She has a diverse academic background with degrees from the University of Bologna (BA), the London School of Economics (MSc), and Warwick University (PhD). Giuliana has held various teaching and research positions both in the UK and abroad, including at Williams College in Massachusetts and Politecnico di Milano in the field of Managerial Engineering. Her primary research interests focus on innovation economics and technological change, applied industrial organization, and industrial policy. She has successfully secured substantial funding for her research, including a three-year grant from ESRC/UKRI aimed at enhancing productivity and environmental performance through innovative services, and analyzing the impact of circular renewable technologies in facilitating energy transitions in Sub-Saharan Africa. As a co-leader of the University of Warwick's Sustainability Spotlight research initiative, she is dedicated to contributing to sustainable economic practices. Giuliana also serves as a trustee for the Royal Statistical Society and is involved with several advisory groups concerning economic statistics and industrial policy.
