Professor Dr. Giuliana Battisti

Biography

Giuliana joined Warwick Business School in September 2012 as a Professor in the Economics Innovation Strategy & International Business Group. She previously served as a professor and research director in the Economics Finance division at Nottingham University Business School. Giuliana's academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in statistics and economics from the University of Bologna, a Master's from the London School of Economics, and a PhD from Warwick University. She has held various teaching and research positions in the UK and abroad, including at Williams College in Massachusetts, USA, and Politecnico Milano in Italy. Her research focuses on themes such as economics of innovation, technological change, applied industrial organization, and industrial policy. Notably, she has secured a two-year mid-career fellowship and multiple research grants including a recent three-year £500k ESRC/UKRI grant on services and productivity. Giuliana also co-leads the University of Warwick's Sustainability Spotlight research initiative and serves on several advisory groups including the National Statistical Advisory Group and the Economic Experts Advisory Group at the Office for National Statistics.
