Dr. Giulio Conte

Biography

Giulio Conte is a medical doctor specialized in Cardiac Electrophysiology, currently serving as the physician head of Electrophysiology and Rare Cardiovascular Diseases at the Cardiocentro Ticino Institute in Lugano, Switzerland. He has an extensive clinical practice focused on managing complex cardiac arrhythmias, including catheter ablations and the implantation of cardiovascular electronic devices. His research work predominantly revolves around catheter ablation, computer modeling of atrial fibrillation, and inherited arrhythmia syndromes, along with cardiogenomics. Furthermore, he has contributed significantly to academic literature, authoring 160 scientific peer-reviewed articles. He has received substantial research funding totaling 1.5 million EUR from various organizations, including the Swiss Government and private foundations. In addition to his clinical and research roles, Conte is also an Honorary Visiting Professor of Medicine at Vrije Universiteit Brussel and an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at Università della Svizzera italiana, appointed in 2021. Currently, he co-chairs the Scientific Initiatives Committee for the European Heart Rhythm Association.
