Giuseppe Filardo earned his degree in Medicine and Surgery in 2004 from Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna, Italy, and specialized in Orthopaedics and Traumatology at Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute in Bologna, Italy, in 2009. His primary clinical and translational research activities are conducted at Ospedale Regionale di Lugano in Switzerland and the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute in Bologna, Italy. He has authored more than 300 articles published in international journals, with a Scopus H-index of 56 and a Google Scholar citation count of 67. His main research interests include regenerative medicine, particularly involving biomaterials, mesenchymal stem/stromal cells, and platelet growth factors for new treatments of musculoskeletal tissues, with a special focus on cartilage, meniscus, and tendon lesions.
