Biography

Giuseppe V. Toia, MD, MS is an assistant professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He serves as the Associate Chief of the Abdominal Imaging Intervention section and is the Program Director for the Abdominal Imaging Intervention fellowship. Dr. Toia graduated from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and completed his transitional internship year at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology and his fellowship in Abdominal Imaging at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. His clinical interests focus on genitourinary radiology, including pelvic floor dysfunction, the development of novel abdominal CT applications such as multi-energy spectral CT, and oncologic imaging biomarkers for non-invasive characterization of abdominal tumors. In academia, he is interested in radiology physics with a focus on optimizing CT workflows, deep learning applications in diagnostic radiology interventions, and opportunistic imaging.
