Biography

Prof Glen Westall is a Consultant Chest Physician and the Head of the Paediatric Lung Transplant Program at Alfred Hospital, Melbourne. He trained at King’s College London and completed his respiratory training at Alfred Hospital and Royal Brompton Hospital, London. In his career, Prof Westall played a critical role in establishing Australia's paediatric lung transplantation service and has been a principal investigator for a national tissue bank involving explanted lung tissue from lung transplantation patients with severe interstitial lung disease (ILD). He has also been a significant contributor to a nationwide network of ILD researchers. His research focuses on lung transplantation and lung fibrosis, where he collaborates on projects assessing biomarkers and improving health outcomes for transplant recipients.
