Biography

Glenn Kiekens is a developmental clinical research psychologist whose primary focus is advancing scientific knowledge in the field of non-suicidal self-injurious thoughts and behaviors, such as cutting and hitting oneself. He investigates how these behaviors emerge and seeks to predict and prevent their occurrence. Additionally, Kiekens has a broad interest in mental health research, particularly concerning adolescents and emerging adults and the implementation of digital tools in mental health care. His research employs a range of complementary methodological approaches including epidemiological surveys, clinic-based studies, and real-time monitoring.
