Biography

Glenn Vinnicombe graduated with a BA in Engineering from Cambridge in 1984. From 1984 to 1987, he worked as a Dynamics Engineer at British Aerospace in Weybridge, primarily focusing on the design of flight test control systems for the Airbus A320. He returned to Cambridge in 1987 as a College Lecturer at Churchill College and obtained his PhD in 1993. Dr. Vinnicombe has held faculty positions in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Minnesota and the Department of Aeronautical Engineering at Imperial College London. He is currently a Reader in Control Engineering and a member of the Control Group at the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge. His research interests include design principles for feedback regulation, complex networks (particularly in communication and power distribution systems), and biological systems.
