Dr. Glenn Withers

Biography

Glenn Withers is a Visiting Professor of Economics at the University of New South Wales Canberra and an Honorary Professor at the Australian National University. He has previously served as CEO of Universities Australia and has held various academic positions both in Australia and internationally, including at Harvard and Cambridge. Glenn is recognized for his contributions to public policy, having chair roles in significant Australian governmental organizations including the National Population Council and the Economic Planning Advisory Commission. He played a key role in the establishment of the Productivity Commission and the Crawford School as well as the Australian and New Zealand School of Government. His expertise extends to advising private and community sector organizations both domestically and abroad, including organizations such as the Business Council of Australia, OECD, and UNDP. His work has earned him the Order of Australia for services in applied economics and the design of the Australian immigration points system. Glenn Withers has authored numerous books, academic papers, and government consultancy reports over his distinguished career.
