Biography

Gönül Dilaver developed a strong interest in academic education and became a member of the educational committee board of the student’s association in Biology. She has been involved in teaching students in Biomedical Sciences and Medicine. In 2005, she started as a University Teacher and Senior Advisor in Biomedical Sciences at Radboud University Nijmegen. In 2007, Dilaver became Degree Coordinator for Master’s Programmes in Biomedical Sciences at the interfaculty Graduate School of Life Sciences at UMC Utrecht and Utrecht University. In 2009, she chaired the Expertise Group for Education in Life Sciences, where she actively develops and implements educational innovations for the Graduate School of Life Sciences. In 2016, she was appointed as Associate Professor of Research Innovation in Biomedical Education at UMC Utrecht. In 2017, she became the faculty liaison for UMC Utrecht's Diversity & Inclusion initiatives. Her research groups focus on life sciences education, aiming to develop adaptive, creative, and responsible future health professionals by investigating learning in educational workplaces. She leads evidence-informed educational innovations in the health domain.
