Biography

Gonzalo G. Alvarez is an Associate Professor and Scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, where he heads the Division of Respirology in the Department of Medicine. He has qualifications in Medicine (MD) and a Master of Public Health (MPH), and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC). His research primarily focuses on epidemiology, particularly regarding Indigenous and Inuit populations and tuberculosis, addressing critical public health issues. Dr. Alvarez's work is dedicated to exploring better health outcomes for vulnerable communities, and he contributes to enhancing the understanding of complex health challenges through rigorous scientific investigation.
