Biography

Gonzalo Freixes is an adjunct professor in the Accounting area at UCLA Anderson School of Management and the academic director of the GEMBA program. He has a diverse background with expertise in Business Ethics, Business Law, Governance, International Law, and Taxation. Born in Cuba, Freixes moved to the U.S. with his family as a refugee, inspiring his pursuit of a legal career aimed at having a positive impact on society. He has been with UCLA Anderson since 1990, initially maintaining a full-time law practice while teaching business law classes. Over time, his passion for teaching led him to teach law and taxation full-time, while practicing law part-time. Freixes has contributed significantly as a faculty director for various programs and has taught courses in business law and taxation at both the undergraduate and MBA levels. His international teaching experiences include lecturing in Brazil, Spain, France, Holland, Argentina, South Africa, Belgium, and Chile. He holds a J.D. from Loyola Law School and an M.A. in Business Taxation from the University of Southern California.
