Dr. Gordon Cable

Biography

Gordon Cable is a specialist in Aerospace Medicine and a Fellow of the Australasian College of Aerospace Medicine. He is the co-founder and Head of Flight Medicine at Human Aerospace Pty Ltd and has a long-standing role with the Royal Australian Air Force's Institute of Aviation Medicine, where he has served as Head of Aerospace Medicine Training. Gordon possesses 26 years of experience in high-performance environments associated with military aviation. From 2020 to 2021, he took on the role of Space Medicine Life Sciences Lead at the Office of the Chief Technology Officer under the Australian Space Agency. His previous professional experience includes serving as an aeromedical certification examiner for the Civil Aviation Safety Authority and being engaged as a civilian aviation medical examiner. Gordon has held an academic position at the University of Adelaide, contributing to the education of medical students. He has established Space Medicine training programs in collaboration with the Australasian Society of Aerospace Medicine and the University of Tasmania. Throughout his career, he has gained multiple fellowships from various professional aerospace organizations in Australia and internationally, including the Aerospace Medical Association and the International Academy of Aviation and Space Medicine. In 2015, he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in recognition of his contributions to aerospace medicine.
