Biography

Gordon Munro lectures in the Sculpture Programme at the Edinburgh College of Art. He is currently engaged in a significant research project focused on the role of iron in contemporary art, examining its materiality and creative potential. Munro is also a co-founder of the Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop, serving as the Assistant Director, a role in which he has been instrumental in planning the Workshop's new sculpture center. His work at ESW includes developing professional development opportunities for graduates and early career artists, alongside established professionals. With over ten years of experience, Munro has exhibited his work nationally and internationally, including exhibitions in London and Germany. He is a member of the Royal Scottish Academy and the Royal British Society of Sculptors.
