Biography

Goretti Ramírez's research focuses on twentieth-century Spanish poetry and intellectual history, with a particular emphasis on María Zambrano. She is a co-editor of volume VI of María Zambrano’s Obras completas, titled Escritos autobiográficos. Delirios. Poemas, as well as the author of several significant works, including María Zambrano, crítica literaria and Representaciones del espacio en la poesía del exilio republicano español. Ramírez has published various scholarly articles in collective volumes and journals. Before joining Concordia University, she taught literature and culture of modern Spain as well as Spanish literature at Cairo University in Egypt and Brown University in the USA. In addition to her academic pursuits, she has contributed to several magazines and art catalogues, showcasing her creative work and essays on poetry, art, and cinema. Currently, she serves as a member of the Editorial Board for the Canadian Review of Hispanic Studies.
