Biography

Grace currently works as a research associate in General Practice and Primary Care, providing research support for a number of projects. She is a statistician at a cardiac rehabilitation Cochrane review centre. Grace holds a BSc in Mathematics and Sport Exercise Sciences and an MSc in Cardiovascular Rehabilitation from the University of Chester. She has a PhD in Medical Studies from the University of Exeter, where her research investigated the effect of cardiac rehabilitation on physical activity levels in patients with heart failure. She developed improved methods to estimate physical activity intensity using accelerometers for heart failure patients and is experienced in quantitative research methods, utilizing accelerometry to measure physical activity. Current projects include the development of SPIRIT, CONSORT, and STROBE extensions for accelerometry reporting guidance and the Personalised Exercise-Rehabilitation programme for individuals with multiple long-term conditions. She is also involved in a systematic review and network meta-analysis focused on behavior change techniques to improve outcomes for individuals with chronic pain in collaboration with Glasgow Caledonian University. Additionally, she participates in the GLOBAL-DATA-MATCH collaboration aiming to provide definitive estimates of the effects of exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation for people with cardiovascular disease.
