Grace Gu is an Assistant Professor of Data Science Operations at USC Marshall School of Business. Her research interests lie at the intersection of technological innovation and strategic management, with a focus on technology strategies in industry. Prof. Gu’s work examines disintermediation in online marketplaces, investigating how customers and service providers can circumvent platform transactions to interact directly. She also studies firm strategic decisions in the context of technological competition, particularly related to online digital marketplaces and mobile app platforms. With a doctoral degree in Technology and Operations Management from Harvard Business School, her insights have been influential in understanding the dynamics of digital platforms and their role in enhancing customer experiences while addressing challenges such as disintermediation.
