Biography

Grace Kim is an Associate Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at New York University Steinhardt. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of California, Davis, a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from Columbia University, and a PhD in Occupational Therapy from New York University. Dr. Kim has extensive clinical experience working with adults with neurological disabilities in acute inpatient rehabilitation settings. As a clinician-researcher at the Rehabilitation Medicine department of New York Presbyterian, Weill Cornell Medical Center, she has developed expertise in upper extremity robotics, outcome measurement, and intervention implementation for stroke patients. Her research focuses on the intersection of technology and neurorehabilitation, particularly the use of affordable mobile and wearable technologies to enhance shared decision-making and outcomes for stroke survivors. Dr. Kim has received several grants including the Mitchell Leaska Dissertation Grant (2014) and the American Occupational Therapy Foundation Interventional Research Grant (2021). She teaches courses in Evidence-Based Practice, Ethics & Analytic Reasoning, and Neurorehabilitation, and serves as a mentor for both master's and doctoral students in Occupational Therapy. Her work aims to educate aspiring occupational therapists and improve clinical practices.
