Dr. Grace La

Biography

Grace La is Chair of the Department of Architecture at Harvard Graduate School of Design and a Professor of Architecture. She is a principal at LA DALLMAN Architects, which is internationally recognized for integrating architecture, engineering, and landscape. La co-founded LA DALLMAN and has worked on a variety of catalytic projects across different scales and types. Her notable works include the Urban Plaza in Milwaukee, which emphasizes public use and infrastructure, and numerous other significant projects throughout the United States. La has received prestigious awards such as the Rudy Bruner Award for Urban Excellence and the Rice Design Alliance Prize. Her teaching experience includes positions at universities such as the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she was a faculty member and received tenure in 2005. La's work has been published in prominent architecture journals and featured exhibitions, including at the Venice Biennale. She is also recognized for her contributions to architectural education and has received several faculty design awards from the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture. La holds a professional Master of Architecture from Harvard and graduated magna cum laude with an AB in Visual and Environmental Studies from Harvard College.
