Biography

Professor Jia Grace Lu holds dual B.S. degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering from Washington University, awarded in 1992. She was supported by the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and the Office of Naval Research Fellowship. She obtained her Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Harvard University in 1997, followed by a postdoctoral appointment at the University of California, Berkeley as a President’s Postdoctoral Fellow. Currently, she has a joint appointment in the Department of Physics & Astronomy and the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern California. Her research interests lie in nanoscale phenomena, focusing on the transport properties of nanostructures and their applications in advanced electronic devices. Professor Lu has authored several impactful publications in high-impact journals, contributing significantly to the fields of applied physics and materials science.
