Dr. Grace Yi

Biography

Grace Yi is a professor at the University of Western Ontario and holds a Tier I Canada Research Chair in Data Science. She specializes in developing methodologies to tackle challenges in Data Science, public health, cancer research, and epidemiological studies. Yi has contributed significantly to the field of statistics and has been recognized as a Fellow of both the Institute of Mathematical Statistics and the American Statistical Association. Her academic journey includes a PhD in Statistics from the University of Toronto and various positions including postdoctoral fellow and professor at the University of Waterloo. Yi has received multiple accolades, including the CRM-SSC Prize for statistical excellence and the NSERC University Faculty Award. She has co-authored a number of significant publications, exploring topics such as machine learning, statistical methods for imaging data, and causal inference. As a prominent researcher, she serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Electronic Journal of Statistics and has held editorial positions in various statistical journals. Yi is an active member of the statistical community and has chaired sections within the American Statistical Association, demonstrating her commitment to advancing the field.
